History
Castles and the Battle of Hastings
In Autumn 1, we will be focusing on Norman castles and the Battle of Hastings.
Key skills include:
*Ask questions: What was it like? What happened? How long ago?
*Use artefacts, pictures, stories, online sources and databases.
*Show an understanding of concepts such as: civilisation, monarchy, parliament, democracy, war and peace.
*Use words and phrases such as: a long time ago, years, decades, centuries to show the passing of time.
* Show an understanding of ‘nation’ and a nation’s history.
Alongside this, we will be making informative posters and creating our own Motte and Bailey castles.
