Welcome to Year 4!

Meet the teachers!

Bring on 2020!

Our Topics:

In Maths we will be focusing on our multiplication tables all the way up to 12x12. In the summer, we will be the first year group to try the national times table test. The children will get the opportunity to show their multiplication skills in a speed test done on a computer.

If you would like to practise with your child, here is a helpful link to a game we play in class: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10

We are currently learning about time! Check out https://mathsframe.co.uk/en/resources/resource/90/itp-clock to practise.

In Science, we are learning all about Sound. Check out https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zgffr82 to learn more.

We are excited for P.E. every Wednesday and Friday!

In English we are reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.

Mr Willy Wonka owns the largest chocolate factory in the world. The winners of five golden tickets will win the chance to see inside this magical place but who will win and what will they discover??

Our Curriculum topic this term is

The Maya Civilisation

We will be studying Maya culture, beliefs, calendars, art and more in the following weeks.

Check out the Maya masks we made on Entry Point Day. Pupils chose to either make a scary battle mask, a bright event mask or a detailed death mask. The results were super.
