Religious Education (RE)

The purpose of Religious Education in Sandwell is ‘to explore what people believe and what difference this makes to how they live, so that pupils can gain the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to handle questions raised by religion and belief, reflecting on their own ideas and ways of living.’

The objectives of RE lessons in Rood End Primary School is determined by the 'Standing Advisory Comittee on Religious Education (SACRE)' for Sandwell. All intents, objectives and progression through school is laid out in the 2024 SACRE document. Staff effectively implement these objectives through quality first teaching and SACRE recommended activities. Pupils are encouraged and challenged to aim high when learning about different religions, connecting them to their own beliefs and worldviews and assessing the impact that religion has on their daily lives.
