Autumn
English
Maths
We will be learning:
Place Value:
* Identifying tens and ones in a number.
* Partitioning number and completing part whole models.
* Reading and writing numbers in words and numerals.
* Finding 1 more and 1 less.
* Finding 10 more and 10 less.
* Coming numbers using < (less than), > (greater than) and = (equals to).
Addition:
* Using the tens and ones grid to help complete a variety of addition problems.
Subtraction:
* Using the tens and ones grid to help complete a variety of subtraction problems.
Multiplication:
* Using groups to help multiply.
* Using arrays and their link to repeated addition to help multiply.
* Using a grid to help multiply.
Division:
* Using groups to help divide.
* Using a grid help multiply.
* Understand that numbers can be multiplied either way eg, 2 x 4 and 4 x 2, but not for division.
Science
Autumn 1 -
Living Things and their Habitats
We are learning:
- to name and identify living things
- talk about where different animals live
- classify animals by their food source
- what a food chain is
- how living things are dependent on each other
- living, dead and never alive things
Autumn 2 -
Animals Including Humans
We are learning:
- understand the basic needs of a animal
- identify animal babies and their adult versions
- explain how animals change when they grow
- understand the life cycle of different animals eg, sheep, frog, butterfly
- identify different animal groups
- understand the importance of hygiene
- understand the importance of healthy eating and exercise

Collins English and Maths Targeted Practice Workbooks – one task page per week in English and Maths. This will be sent out on a Thursday and returned on a Tuesday.

School finish time: 3:15pm Monday to Friday
Children may not reach the playground until 3:20pm
as lessons do not finish until 3:15 pm
Children must be collected on time from the KS1 playground.
Reminder that healthy snacks should be eaten at break times.
