What We Want for Your Child in Music
We want every child to finish their time with us having an understanding of music and a real love for it. They’ll learn to perform confidently, create their own music, and listen carefully. Our music lessons are for everyone—no matter their background or ability, every child can get involved and make progress.
What Your Child Will Do in Music
- Lots of Instruments: Children get to try out all kinds of instruments like glockenspiels, djembes, recorders, ukuleles, keyboards, and percussion.
- Great Teaching: Music lessons are taught by both class teachers and specialist music providers to give the best experience.
- Using Kapow Music: We follow the Kapow Music scheme, which has videos and clear plans to help staff & children learn step-by-step throughout the year.
- Fun and Interactive: Lessons start with a quick recap to help children remember what they’ve learned. We also teach key musical words so children can talk about music confidently.
- Extra Support: If a child needs extra help, we make sure they get it, so everyone can join in and enjoy music.
- Performances: We love celebrating children’s music skills and sometimes record their performances to show how much they’ve improved
