If a child comes to school with COVID symptoms, you will be asked to take them for a PCR test to check for COVID-19.

The main symptoms are:

• New, continuous cough
• High temperature
• Loss of or change to your sense of smell or taste.
• Runny nose
• Headache
• Sore throat

With the new variant, some children are presenting with sickness and/or diarrhoea.  If your child has this alongside the other symptoms, please get a PCR test.

However, these are similar to lots of other common illnesses. The only way you can be sure if someone has coronavirus is to test them.

When a negative result is received, the child can return to school. However, without a negative result we cannot allow the child back to school until the isolation period has passed. We are following government advice regarding this and doing what we can to keep everyone safe.
