Year Six July 2020
Hello Year Six,
We understand that not everyone has been able to return to school. This has been such a worrying time for so many people and we fully respect your families’ decision if you have opted to remain at home.
As the end of the school year is fast approaching, we wanted to provide you with an opportunity to speak to the Year Six staff and say goodbye to friends in your class.
Therefore, on Wednesday 15th July, between 3:30-4:15pm, pupils in 6R can come on to the playground, via the gates of Shirley Road, to collect your work and special leavers’ t-shirts.
Similarly, on Thursday 16th July, between 3:30-4:15pm, pupils in 6E can come on to the playground, via the gates of Shirley Road, and collect your work and special leavers’ t-shirts.
If you have any reading books at home, return them at this time. It would be advisable to bring a bag so that you can carry all the belongings that are in your tray.
You may wish to bring a camera to take some photographs but we must maintain social distancing.
For those children who are currently attending school, you will receive your books and t-shirts on your last day – either 10th or 17th July. However, you can still come and see your friends on the playground.
As promised, once we are allowed by the Government, we are still going to invite you back for a special Leavers’ Party. Realistically, this will be in a few months’ time. We will send out invitations to let you know when the event will be happening.
Finally, we would like to wish you luck for the future and say how proud we are of your resilience and understanding during such a challenging time. We are sorry that we were unable to participate in the usual end of Year Six traditions but hope you still have many special memories of Rood End Primary.
Take care of yourselves and please stay in touch. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.
