At Rood End, we use Rocket Phonics to teach our pupils to read the sounds in words.  This is a systematic, synthetic phonics programme that is approved by the DfE.  Phonics is aimed to help children to learn to read skilfully and it is an important part of a child's early education.  More details about this programme and how phonics is taught can be found below.
